Our unique 14-day volcano skiing adventure is sure to be an epic experience you will never forget. We start and finish in our home base, San Carlos de Bariloche, after venturing over land and water, by car, by foot, by ski, by boat, and by horseback, climbing and skiing 6 of the greatest volcanoes in Patagonia: Volcán Lanín, Volcán Villarica, Volcán Llaima, Volcán Lonquimay, Volcán Osorno, and Monte Tronador.

Previous backcountry ski touring experience preferred. Guests will need their own beacon, shovel, probe, Alpine Touring/Telemark/Splitboard equipment and Climbing Skins. Snowshoes are not recommended. Ice Axe, Crampons and Ski Crampons are highly recommended. Due to the amount of physical exertion and the nature & pace of this tour, guests will need to have a good level of physical fitness and stamina.

Day One: Guests arrive in Bariloche, transportation to lodging, settle in, relax, enjoy yerba maté & empanadas, Meet & Greet, plan the following days’ events, Welcome Dinner.

Day Two: We will head north through Villa La Angostura and up to San Martin de Los Andes via the famous Seven Lakes Route. After a nice dinner, we will stay the night at a hotel in town.

Day Three: Early morning start, driving through Junín de Los Andes to our first objective: Volcán Lanín. We will then begin our ascent up to Refugio RIM. After enjoying the incredible views and planning the following days’ summit ascent, we will cook a simple dinner and stay the night in the refugio.

Day Four: Early morning summit ascent and ski of Volcán Lanín – 8,000 vertical feet of silky corn snow. Upon returning to our vehicle, we will continue over the border to Pucón, Chile. After a well deserved dinner in town, we will stay the night at a hotel in Pucón.

Day Five: Drive to the base of Volcán Villarica, skin up, ski down. We have the option to enjoy the local hot springs in the afternoon. Dinner in town, stay the night in Pucón.

Day Six: Drive north to the base of Volcán Llaima, skin up, ski down. Continue north to Malacahuelo, Chile. Dinner in town, stay the night at a hotel in Malacahuelo.

Day Seven: Drive to the base of Volcán Lonquimay, skin up, ski down. We have the option to enjoy the local hot springs in the afternoon. Dinner in town, stay the night in Malacahuelo.

Day Eight: Drive 6.5 hours south to Osorno, Chile. After a late lunch in town, we will drive up to Refugio Osorno to enjoy a nice dinner and stay the night.

Day Nine: Climb and ski Volcán Osorno. We will have the rest of the day to relax and enjoy ourselves at the hut, soaking in the hot tub under the starry southern sky. Dinner and stay the night at the hut.

Day Ten: Huge travel day! Early morning start, drive around and behind the volcano to the port in Petrohue, Chile. We will take the ferry across Lago Todos Los Santos to Peulla, Chile and continue to Puerto Frías, Argentina, crossing the border by bus. From Puerto Frías, we will take another short ferry ride to Puerto Alegre, then take another short bus ride to Puerto Blest, before our last ferry to Puerto Pañuelo in Bariloche. After an early dinner, we will drive south to Pampa Linda, Argentina to stay the night.

*Alternatively, we could drive back up to Osorno and cross into Argentina over Paso Cardenal Samoré, back through Villa La Angostura, to Bariloche.

*We are working on developing a horseback ride from Puerto Frías to Pampa Linda, in order to avoid all of the extra transfers and travelling.

Day Eleven: Begin our approach and ascent of Monte Tronador by horseback, continuing up to Refugio Otto Meiling. After enjoying the amazing views and planning the following days’ summit ascent, we will cook a simple dinner and stay the night in the refugio.

Day Twelve: Early morning ascent to Pico Argentino of Monte Tronador, ski back down the the refugio. We have the option to either stay another night in the refugio or begin the descent down to Pampa Linda to stay the night there.

Day Thirteen: Drive back to Bariloche. FREE DAY: relax, shopping, skiing @ Cerro Catedral, etc., Farewell Dinner.

Day Fourteen: FREE DAY: relax, shopping, skiing @ Cerro Catedral, etc., transportation to airport/bus station.
