Justin Lozier - Head GuideJustin on top of Punta Princesa

Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Justin learned to ski at age 4 from his father, 20-year National Ski Patrol veteran, Michael Lozier. After mastering his skiing technique on the icy, mid-western slopes of Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, Justin yearned for more and moved to Vail, Colorado to advance his skiing in the Rocky Mountains, before relocating to the infamous Wasatch Range of Utah to persue his professional ski guiding career. His love for skiing and passion to share the experience with others lead him to begin his career in backcountry ski guiding and to follow his dream of becoming a heliski guide. Among other areas of ski-related study, Justin attended Dean Cummings' H2O Guides Heliski Guide School in Valdez, Alaska in 2006. His experience in the rugged Chugach Range not only gave him a wealth of knowledge, but also stoked the fire of passion within him to advance his skiing once again. This drive eventually brought him to the Andes Mountains of Argentina to begin his own ski tour business, PatagoniaSkiTours.com. During the winter in the United States, Justin guides heliskiing with Wasatch Powderbird Guides, based in Snowbird, Utah.

Jim Muguerza - Assistant GuideJim venturing fuera de pista

Originally from the snow-free city of Corpus Cristi, Texas, Jim fled to the Rocky Mountains, settling in Vail, Colorado. Snowboarding all day and working all night, Jim developed a passion for the sport that brought him to the freedom and purity of the backcountry. As an avid backcountry snow rider in a dangerous Colorado snowpack, Jim studies the subjects of snow science and snow safety thoroughly, and he regularly attends the International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW). Head guide, Justin Lozier, and Jim have been riding and ski touring together for several years in Colorado, and eventually Jim made his way down to Argentina to ride during the austral winter. After an ascent and descent of the famous patagonian volcano, "El Tronador", with PatagoniaSkiTours.com during the 2008 season, Jim was hooked on the Andes. During the winter in the United States, Jim tours the Colorado Rockies with his splitboard.
